The CCSVI procedure is a relatively quick outpatient procedure with no associated downtime. Patients undergo the procedure and remain for observation in our recovery area on Day 3 of the treatment program, return for the post-procedure check on Day 4, and travel home on Day 5. We require that you stay in the immediate area for 48 hours after the procedure.
During the months and years that follow, all of our patients have access to follow up imaging at our medical center in Newport Beach, and consultation either in person, or via phone or email.
Post-Procedure Recovery and Observation
After your procedure, you will be moved to our post-procedural recovery suite for observation. Your stay in the recovery area should not typically exceed two to three hours. Most patients experience clearing of brain fog during the procedure or while in the recovery area. Previously cold and pale hands and feet give way to warm and pink extremities within minutes. These improvements result from improved function of the autonomic nervous system which occurs immediately after treatment.
After your stay in our recovery area is complete and you have successfully met our discharge criteria, you will be transported back to your hotel.
Post-Procedure Check
The following morning, Day 4 of the treatment program, you will return to our medical center for your follow up appointment by prearranged transportation. During your appointment with the physician, you’ll be able to discuss your procedure, recovery, symptoms, and ask any questions you may have. After the appointment, you will be transported back to your hotel.
Travel Home
On Day 5, you’ll be taken to SNA airport by prearranged transportation for your return trip home.
